This website is built to keep third-party tracking light. At the time of writing we use the following:

• jc_chat_session — an HttpOnly cookie that keeps your website chat conversation connected for up to 7 days. It stores a random session token, not your name. Without it, the chat cannot reliably continue between page loads. This is a strictly necessary functional cookie if you use chat
• Hosting and security cookies — short-lived cookies or tokens used by our infrastructure (including authentication cookies if a member of staff signs into the private admin area). Public visitors do not receive staff login cookies
• Preference storage in your browser — where the interface needs to remember a simple local state (for example UI behaviour). That is held on your device and is not used to profile you for advertising

Name: jc_chat_session. Purpose: maintain a public chat session. Duration: up to 7 days. Type: first-party, HttpOnly, Secure in production, SameSite=Lax. Basis: strictly necessary for the chat feature you choose to use.

Name: staff authentication cookies (admin only). Purpose: keep authorised staff signed in to the private management area. Duration: session / short-lived as configured by the auth provider. Type: first-party. Basis: strictly necessary for secure staff access. Not set for ordinary public browsing.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block all cookies, parts of the site may stop working — in particular the chat assistant.

Most browsers let you remove existing cookies, block third-party cookies, or clear site data for josbencare.co.uk specifically. Check your browser’s help pages for the exact steps on your device.

If you only want to end a chat session, clearing site cookies for this domain (or waiting for the 7-day expiry) is enough.
